Brooklyn kids to rock out

Brooklyn Kids Rock, a local school that teaches children how to play and write music, gives kids the chance to live out their rock and roll fantasies via band practices, photo shoots and live shows.

On March 20, the latter comes true, as four bands perform everything from The Foo Fighters to The Go-Gos, and even some original songs of their own, at the Living Room.

Founded by local musician and music teacher Peira, Brooklyn Kids Rock gives kids ages 8-14 (or 3rd grade to 9th grade) the opportunity to play in a live band setting. After a 10-week semester of writing original material and learning classic rock and contemporary covers, the kids put on a show in a real New York City venue.

See them for yourself when the bands take to the stage from 2:30-5 pm. Tickets are $4 for adults, $3 for children. The Living Room is located at 154 Ludlow Street in Manhattan.
