Sylvia Meyer has seen more than most…birthdays, that is.
The retired businesswoman, avid knitter, and family matriarch — who arrived with her cousins in the Lower East Side from Czarist-controlled Poland in the early part of the 20th century before settling in Bensonhurst — celebrated her 102nd trip around the sun.
Enjoying a feisty, independent lifestyle, the young-at-heart Meyer, who has lived in the same apartment for seven decades, continues to inspire her neighbors, friends, and family with her inexhaustible joie de vivre.
Happy birthday, Sylvia, and many, many more.
