Vicious attack

A brute struck a man with an umbrella, causing an abrasion to his left forearm, and threatened his life when he was driving in his car with his child on Greenwood Avenue on March 2.

The man told police he was driving from E. Fifth Street towards E. Fourth Street around 6:45 pm when he heard a car nearby. When he stopped to check, the lout ran up to him and hit him with the umbrella and then commanded that he “get out of here or I’ll kill you in front of your kid,” police reported. The man got into his car and drove away, he told cops.

Umbrella assault

Police arrested a trio of men who they say punched a man and then struck him with an umbrella, causing a large laceration on the right side of his upper rib cage, on Fifth Avenue on March 4.

The group allegedly committed the assault just before 2 am at 41st Street, when they punched the man on his face and body and then with the umbrella before fleeing in a car, cops said.

What a tool

A perp stole and cloned an 18th Street resident’s business card to spend nearly $2,300 on tools at a home improvement store on Feb. 28.

The resident, who lives between Third and Fourth avenues, told officers the theft occurred between 2 and 2:40 pm.

Cracked up

Cops cuffed a woman who they say was found with a glass pipe with crack residue on Fourth Avenue on March 1.

Officers spotted her at 57th Street between 9:15 and 9:30 am, and saw the woman allegedly try to hide the pipe in her bag, according to the report.

Didn’t get too far

Authorities arrested a man who allegedly stole two fur vests worth nearly $2,300 from a Third Avenue store on March 1.

Police say the man stole the furs from the store between 30th and 31st streets between 7:15 and 7:45 pm, and officers arrested him later that night.

Tool move

Police busted a man who they say tried to steal an estimated $1,500 worth of tools from a home improvement store on Hamilton Avenue on March 2.

An employee apprehended the man right around 11:40 am at the store near 19th Avenue, when he put the items under his coat and tried to walk out without paying, cops reported. Police arrested him soon after.

Shoe-in

A snake stole three pairs of a woman’s designer shoes from her 68th Street home on March 3.

The woman’s neighbor called her to alert her of an intruder at her home between Sixth and Seventh avenues at around 1:15 pm. When the woman arrived home, she checked her cameras to find the man — wearing a black book bag and riding a scooter — had entered through the front door and taken the shoes. He then fled on 68th Street towards Sixth Avenue.
