60th Precinct

Coney Island—Brighton Beach—Seagate

Brass knuckled

A good-for-nothing hit a man with brass knuckles on W. 24th Street on Feb. 21.

The 22-year-old victim said he was near Neptune Avenue at 3:30 pm when the man struck him several times in the face with the weapon, cutting his face. The victim told cops he knows the man, who simply walked up to him and attacked.

Police said the victim went to Coney Island Hospital for treatment.

Stolen car

A baddie stole a man’s car on Ocean Parkway on Feb. 24.

The 61-year-old victim said he parked his 2011 Toyota Sienna with a New York State plate near Neptune Avenue at 9 pm, but when he returned later that evening, someone had taken his car.

Cops said there are no records of the car being towed, nor are there any tickets for the vehicle.

Saw thief

A jerk stole saws from a construction site on W. 36th Street on Feb. 20.

The victim found the front gate of the site between Canal and Bayview avenues unlocked at 3:30 pm, police said. The thief took two saws from an unlocked commercial vehicle at the site, according to the report.

Officers said they did not find the thief after searching the area, but that there are cameras nearby.

Train nappers beware

Thieves swiped snoozing straphangers’ belongings in two separate incidents aboard Brooklyn-bound trains on Feb. 23:

• A punk stole a phone and a wallet off a sleeping drunk man on a Coney Island-bound N train.

The 23-year-old victim said he got on a Bay Ridge-bound R train at the Eighth Street subway station on the distant isle of Manhattan at 2 am, before switching to the N train. He had been drinking at a bar, and fell asleep with his phone in his hand while listening to music. When he woke up, he noticed someone had stolen his iPhone 6s and wallet. He then got off the train at Stillwell Avenue station.

The thief used the credit card twice at a fast food chain on Eastern Parkway, and once at a store on Utica Avenue, cops said.

• A bum stole a man’s wallet on a Coney Island-bound Q train the same day.

The 25-year-old victim said he got on the subway at the 23rd Street station in Manhattan at 12:30 am. He told cops he put his wallet in his coat pocket and his bag on the floor between his legs, and fell asleep.

Someone woke him up at 6 am, and the man then realized his wallet and bag had been stolen, police reported. He said the wallet had a credit card in it and the bag contained clothes.

Police said someone made an unauthorized purchase of a taxi ride on the credit card.

Car break-ins

Snakes broke into two cars parked on Brighton Beach Avenue on Feb. 21:

• Someone smashed the window of a car parked near Brighton 15th Street sometime after 5:30 pm, said police. The owner returned to find the back passenger-side window shattered and three credit cards and two debit cards missing from inside the arm rest between the front seats, authorities reported.

Police said the thief tried using some of the cards, and that there are cameras near the scene of the incident.

• The second car, also parked near Brighton 15th Street, was broken into sometime overnight after 10 pm, cops said. The owner returned the next morning to find the passenger-side window smashed and a Mac laptop and Tom Ford sunglasses missing.

Parking lot larceny

A no-good thief stole a tablet and a phone from a parked car on Shore Parkway on Feb. 20.

A 19-year-old man said he parked his ride in a lot near Bay 44th Street at 6:30 pm, and when he returned an hour later, noticed someone had taken his Samsung tablet and iPhone X.

Police said there are no signs someone broke into the car.
