Cab crooks
A group of brutes violently robbed a cab driver on Ashland Place on April 4.
The driver picked up the three goons in Manhattan and was dropping them at their destination near Hanson Place at 8:15 p.m., when one of the guys punched him in the back of the head, causing substantial pain, according to cops.
The two other ne’er-do-wells snatched the victim’s phone from the front cupholder and the three louts fled on St. Felix Street toward Lafayette Avenue, police said.
Stoop buster
Cops arrested a man who they say punched a guy in the mouth and tried to rob him on Willoughby Avenue on April 1.
The victim told police they got into an argument about sitting on the stairs at the suspect’s residence near Clermont Avenue around 11 p.m. when the man punched him in the mouth, cutting the victim’s lip, according to police.
The suspect then allegedly tried to take the victim’s phone when he was attempting to call the cops, according to the authorities.
The Boys in Blue caught up with the suspect on April 5 outside the 88th Precinct at the corner of Classon and DeKalb avenues, according to the police.
Bottle basher
Police cuffed a man for allegedly hitting another man over the head with a glass bottle on Myrtle Avenue on April 6.
The victim told cops he was near Washington Avenue at 8:40 p.m. when the suspect allegedly bashed the bottle in the back of his head, causing pain and bleeding.
Police arrested the man 20 minutes later at Ashland Place, according to authorities.
Pup scam
A fraud scammed a woman who wanted to buy a puppy on Clinton Avenue on March 31.
The victim sent the unknown charlatan more than $1,000 to buy the dog via an app, but noticed the next day that the transaction was fraudulent and the seller cut off contact to her, between Gates and Greene avenues at 6 p.m., according to cops.
Supermarket sneak
A thief robbed a woman at an Ashland Place supermarket on April 4.
The victim left her wallet, notebook, day planner, birth certificates, and flash drive on a chair in the eating area of the store near Lafayette Avenue at 10 a.m. and walked away for a few minutes, cops said.
When she returned, the items were gone, and surveillance cameras show another woman swiping the stuff and leaving the store, according to the authorities.
