Calvary graduates large class of cancer care techs

Calvary held its 48th Graduation Ceremony for their Cancer Care Technician (CCT) Program. It was their largest graduating class ever, 29 CCTs, who will work at the Bronx Hospital and their Brooklyn Campus at Lutheran Medical Center, 150 55th Street.

Applicants were nurse’s aides for at least six months at Calvary, and demonstrated the hospital’s core values of dignity, caring, compassion, and non−abandonment of patients and their loved ones. CCTs received both classroom and clinical instruction over an intensive six month period, and learned about skin care, assistance with feeding, patient safety, and overall comfort of Calvary patients.

For more than four decades, Calvary’s trademark CCT program has produced more than 1,400 health care professionals with the necessary skills to help advanced cancer patients achieve the best possible quality of life.
