While it feels like 2024 has only just begun, Valentine’s Day is already around the corner. Whether you’re looking to celebrate with a partner, family, friends — or by yourself — Brooklyn has plenty of fun and romantic events to offer.

Here are some ways to celebrate love in the heart of Brooklyn:

Pre-Valentine’s Day Market

Sunday, Feb. 11, 1-5 p.m. 1208 Surf Ave., Coney Island. Free

Head to Coney Island to pick up any last-minute gifts and get all your shopping done, all while supporting local businesses and artisans. The Pre-Valentine’s Day Market is located just past the peninsula’s iconic boardwalk, so —weather permitting — you can take a brisk stroll along the beach after finishing your shopping. We recommend holding hands with someone special to help keep warm!

Valentine’s Day concert

Wednesday, Feb. 14, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Murmrr Theater, 17 Eastern Parkway, Prospect Heights $30+.

Enjoy a romantic candlelit concert at the Murmrr Theater, featuring classic tunes like “Moon River” by Henry Mancini, “Love Theme” by Nino Rota, “Clair de Lune” by Claude Debussy and more performed by a live orchestra. Bring yourself or a date, either way the performance is bound to impress.

Valentine’s Day art for kids

Tuesday, Feb. 13, 3:30-4:30 p.m. Brooklyn Public Library’s Kings Highway Branch, 2115 Ocean Ave., Sheepshead Bay. Free

Create marbled heart masterpieces at the Brooklyn Library by using shaving foam and washable paint to make a special crafty Valentine for a loved one. This activity can get messy so make sure that you or your child wear clothes that can get dirty and keep in mind who in your life deserves such a special Valentine’s Day card!

Valentine’s Day dinner at Bar56

Wednesday, Feb. 14 reservations starting at 5 p.m. Bar56, 53 Water St., DUMBO. $105.

Enjoy a delicious four-course dinner with waterfront views at Bar56. With a menu curated by Chef Vincent Cortese, this is sure to be a can’t-miss dining experience. Afterwards, you and your party can walk off dinner and dessert with a romantic stroll across the waterfront overlooking the incredible views of the city skyline and Brooklyn Bridge.

Galentine’s Day brunch

Tuesday, Feb. 13. 6-9 p.m. Arlo Williamsburg, 96 Wythe Ave., Williamsburg. $107.

Leslie Knope said it best: It’s only the best day of the year. Celebrate your gal pals and the women in your life on Galentine’s Day, the day before Valentine’s, at the Arlo Williamsburg. Enjoy glasses of women-made-and-owned champagne at the Arlo’s glamorous Mirror Bar. Featuring bottles of bubbly from Champagne Laurent Perrier, Champagne Pol Roger, Le Grand Courtâge French Sparkling and more!
