Cell hell
At least four cellphones were swiped across the neighborhood last week:
• A thief stole one from a woman at the Hoyt Street station at around 10:30 am on Nov. 23.
• A thief stole a cellphone on Bridge Street near Prospect Street at around 1:15 am on Nov. 26.
• Another cellphone was swiped on Dean Street near Fourth Avenue at 3:35 pm on Nov. 22.
• And three crooks stole a man’s cellphone on Montague Street between Court and Clinton streets at 10 pm on Nov. 27.
Home invasion
Two thugs entered a Clark Street home and assaulted its occupant on Nov. 23 — and all they got was a lousy MP3 player.
The victim said that he was inside his apartment, which is between Hicks and Henry streets, at 1:55 pm when he heard a knock on his door.
When he answered, the men entered the apartment and one of them said, “This is a robbery. If you move, I’ll kill you.” Then they beat him up, stole the music-playing device and left.
Truck stopped
A thief stole computer equipment from a delivery truck on Cadman Plaza East on Nov. 22.
The truck driver said the printer toners were swiped while he made a delivery at Red Cross Place at 10:30 am.
Vicious stabbing
Four thugs stabbed an MTA employee on Flatbush Avenue Extension on Nov 21.
The victim was near Fleet Street at 7:15 pm when the men approached, and asked if he was a member of a rival gang. Then they stabbed him and ran away.
The victim was treated at Kings County Hospital.
House break-in
A crook stole jewelry and a TV from a Schermerhorn Street home on Nov. 22.
The occupant said she left the apartment between Hoyt and Bond streets, at 9:30 am. When she returned at 6 pm, the television and necklaces were missing.
Foster fiend
A thief stole a woman’s wallet at a Willoughby Street foster care facility on Nov. 21.
The victim said that she left the wallet in the waiting area of the building, between Hoyt and Bond streets, at 9 am. The item was missing when she returned one hour later.
Purse be-gone
A thief swiped a purse and backpack from a Smith Street bar on Nov. 19.
The victim said she left the items on the back of a chair at the watering hole, between Wyckoff and Warren streets at 2 am. They were gone when she returned to retrieve them at 3:50 am.
Robbery foiled
Armed thugs failed to pull off a jewelry heist on Willoughby Street on Nov. 25.
The men entered the store between Bridge and Lawrence streets at 4 pm, brandishing a gun and demanding jewelry. But when a clerk was slow to respond, the men got cold feet and ran out empty-handed.
Beaten for cash
Two thugs stole $150 from a woman on Warren Street on Nov. 23.
The victim told police that she was near Bond Street at 3:45 pm when the men grabbed the cash from her hands, pushed her to the ground and fled.
Bleak Friday
A thief stole a purse from an employee of a Fulton Street store on Nov. 25, during the busiest shopping day of the year.
The victim said that she left the purse in a closet at the store between Nevins Street and Hanover Place when she got to work that morning. The bag was missing when she finished her shift at 9 pm.
Dollar daze
Two thugs beat up a man for refusing to give them a dollar on Lawrence Street on Nov 22.
The victim said that he was between Fulton and Willoughby streets at 4 pm when the men asked him for the buck.
“I don’t have a dollar,” the man said, and kept walking.
The men responded by punching him in the face several times.
Ganged up
A gang of 15 thugs stole a teen’s cellphone in McLaughlin Park on Nov. 21.
The young adult told police that he was inside of the park, between Tillary Street and Cathedral Place, at 2 pm when the gang approached and asked him for his phone.
When he refused, one of them said, “How about I just shoot you?”
The teen complied, handing over his phone.
Box out
Four thieves armed with a box cutter stole a man’s cellphone steps away from the Brooklyn House of Detention on Atlantic Avenue on Nov. 21.
The victim said that he was across from the jail between Smith Street and Boerum Place at 9 pm when the thugs put the box cutter to his neck and demanded he hand over the phone.
