The 19th annual
Brooklyn Working Artists Coalition sculpture show will be unveiled
at Empire-Fulton Ferry State Park on Saturday, Aug. 4.
The free outdoor show, which will be on view through Sept. 3,
was culled from a nationwide call for proposals.
From noon to 6 pm on opening day, enjoy music by the Puppetheads
and Sue & Bob Powers’ Crashsite while you peruse art displayed
against a backdrop of the New York skyline.
This year’s theme, according to exhibit curators Richard Brachman
and Ursula Clark, are the rapid changes underway in the areas
of DUMBO and Fulton Landing, whose waterfronts will be part of
the planned Brooklyn Bridge Park. The park will eventually extend
along the East River from Pier 5 at Joralemon Street to Jay Street,
just north of the Manhattan Bridge.
Among the widely varied works on display by 16 artists is (at

Show will be open from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm daily through Labor
Day and can be accessed from either New Dock Street or Main Street
