Talk about a meal to go.
Three bacon cheeseburgers, a cellphone and $45 were stolen from a delivery man on Eighth Avenue by a robber who may have had a gun, police said.
It was no April Fool’s joke when the thief rushed the 35-year-old victim from behind, shortly after 10 pm on April 1.
“Don’t move and don’t look,” the robber said after jamming a hard object into the delivery man’s back.
The victim turned over the goods and the thief bolted toward the subway station on Ninth Street, at Eighth Avenue. Police are looking for a 30-year-old black man, 6-foot-1, in a black jacket, blue jeans and white sneakers.
Cabbie targeted
A cab driver was shot at and robbed by a man who escaped on Third Avenue on March 27.
The 48-year-old victim, who lives upstate, picked up a fare at 9:30 pm. When he reached Baltic Street, between Third and Fourth avenues, the driver pulled a gun and insisted, “Give me your money.” He then fired one round, piercing the driver’s side window with one shot.
Police are looking for a black man, 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds, who wore a gray jogging jacket and black sweat pants. The driver, who was not injured, said the safety partition in the car was not working properly.
Cell swipe
A thief who said he had a gun stole a high-end cellphone from a woman on Park Place on March 29, police said.
The 25-year-old victim was walking between Sixth and Seventh avenues around 10:30 pm when the stranger rushed her from behind and grabbed her left arm. “I have a gun, give me your cellphone,” he said.
The woman complied, and the thief ran off down Park Place with the phone, a Treo valued at $400. Police are now looking for a 25-year-old black man, 5-foot-6 and 160 pounds, sporting a goatee and dreadlocks.
Jewelry stolen
A sticky-fingered jewel thief swiped six items valued at more than $40,000 in fewer than five minutes from a Seventh Avenue shop, police said.
The 19-year-old clerk was alone at the store, near President Street, when the thief walked in, just before 2 pm. The man showed off a black gun and insisted, “Do as I say, or I will blow your brains out.”
He grabbed the jewelry — five rings, one valued at $15,500 alone, a necklace and earrings — and dashed out to the street.
“Don’t look at me or I will shoot you,” the thief insisted.
But the victim did notice the robber as he jumped into a red 2006 Honda Accord, at the corner of President Street, and speed away. Police are looking for a 30-year-old black man, 5-foot-8 and 200 pounds, with a goatee and a tattoo on his neck. He was dressed in a black hat and a blue sweatshirt.
Library heist
Two women became part of a sad story when someone stole their purses from an office at the Brooklyn Public Library’s main branch at Grand Army Plaza.
The victims, a 41-year-old from Bay Ridge and a 34-year-old Manhattan woman, left their pocketbooks in the room at 4 pm on March 31. The door has an automatic lock and is accessed by a keypad entry; roughly 40 employees know the code number needed to unlock the door.
When the women returned to the office, at 5:45 pm, their bags were gone. The stolen items included multiple credit cards, a New York State driver’s license, student and work IDs, a Metrocard, $67 and a library card.
Cars missing
At least two vehicles disappeared from Slope streets on March 28, police said, including a decade-old Buick. One heist took less than five minutes.
Thieves swiped a 1996 Buick Century from its spot on President Street, at Sixth Avenue. The 35-year-old driver, a New Jersey man, left the car at 10:30 am. When he returned, five minutes later, it was gone without a trace.
Later that day, a 38-year-old Staten Island man parked his 2005 Hyundai Elantra on Carroll Street, near Fourth Avenue. He left the four-door sedan around 6:30 pm, but when he next saw the spot, around 2 pm the next day, the car had disappeared.
