Merriment was on the books for young revelers at Public School 249, who donned colorful costumes and out their best foot forward for an afternoon of dancing in honor of the Mexican holiday, Cinco de Mayo.
Bedecked with streamers and ribbons, the auditorium of the school, 18 Marlborough Road, morphed into a show hall as students and staffers celebrated the special day with a program of festivity.
Cinco de Mayo is observed on May 5, and commemorates the victory of the Mexican militia over the French army at the Battle Of Puebla in 1862.
