Christmas Eve pop
An area man was rushed to the hospital this past Christmas Eve after he was attacked and threatened with an air pistol on Union Avenue.
Police were told that the victim was on Union Avenue at Grand Street at 4 a.m. on December 24 when he was confronted by 17-year-old Anthony Laureano and 18-year-old Milton Campus.
After an exchange of words Laureano allegedly lunged at the victim, pelting him with punches.
Campus stood nearby, threatening the victim with the butt of a pistol that was secreted in his waistband.
Responding officers took both men into custody a short time later. Campus’ “weapon turned out to be an air pistol,” officials said.
Cops charged Laureano with assault, menacing and harassment.
Campus was charged with menacing as well, along with unlawful possession of an imitation pistol, officials said.
