Church Avenue is the place to be!

Or at least it was this weekend, when the neighborhood came together to throw a huge street fair on the thoroughfare between E. 10th Street and Argyle Road, which included some of the best food and attractions that the eclectic neighborhood has to offer.

“My son’s favorite was the belly dancers,” said Lena Gluck, who came with her 6-year-old, Eli. “It was really nice when we were there because the street was all sunny.”

In addition to the sunshine and belly dancers, attendees were treated to free pony rides, face-painting, sing-alongs, and yoga, as well as food from businesses like Am-Thai and Shayna’s, which made its famous roti.

Kids weren’t the only ones having a good time, however.

“I had a blast,” said Gluck. “The guy at the blow-up jumping thing was like, ‘your son’s gone in 10 times, do you want to go in?’ He let me in even though I was a big person!”
