Get ready to play ball!
Starting July 27, kids from pre-K to 12th grade can participate in a free, five-week basketball clinic on Saturdays at Kaiser Park in Coney Island.
The program, run by Brooklyn USA Sports in collaboration with the group behind the area’s proposed casino, The Coney, will offer activities for all age groups as well as a division for children with special needs.
Last year’s program attracted more than 500 participants, something Brooklyn USA Sports Director Thomas Sicignano is proud of.
“We are incredibly excited to bring The Coney Basketball Clinic and Tournament back to Coney Island and do so in a way that is free for all kids from Pre-K to 12th grade to attend,” said Sicignano. “I want to thank The Coney for stepping up again to support this program and helping make sure there are accessible youth activities taking place this summer in Coney Island.”

Through various programming and sports teams, kids are able to learn about teamwork and community participation. Over the years, Brooklyn USA Sports has produced 18 NBA players, and over 1,000 players at the college level.
The Coney 2024 Basketball Clinic and Tournament will take place every Saturday at 10 a.m. from July 27 to Aug. 24 at Kaiser Park, 2529 Neptune Ave.
