Cops: Gun-toting teen robs sunglass store

84th Precinct

Brooklyn Heights–DUMBO–Boerum Hill–Downtown

Shady crook

A 15-year-old kid was arrested for robbing a sunglass store on Nostrand Avenue on Aug. 27 of — what else — some cool shades.

An employee told police he was working at the store between Herkimer and Fulton streets at 4:20 pm when the suspect entered the store and grabbed a pair of sunglasses.

“What if this was a stickup?” the suspect asked the victim, before showing him the handle of pistol stuck in his waistband and sauntering out of the store.

Fashion thief

A 24-year-old woman was arrested for shoplifting clothing from a Fulton Street retailer on Sept. 7.

A security guard told police that he was working inside the store between Gallatin Place and Hoyte Street at 4:30 pm when he noticed the suspect stuffing clothes into a bag and then attempt to leave without paying.

Just fighting plaque

Police arrested a 31-year-old man who they say stole toothpaste from a Court Street Rite Aid on Sept. 5.

A security guard told police that he was working at the pharmacy between State Street and Atlantic Avenue at 3:46 pm when he noticed the suspect carrying a tube of toothpaste and attempting to scram without forking over any dough.

Walk the plank

A 34-year-old man threatened another man with a nail-studded plank on State Street on Sept. 5, according to police who arrested him.

The victim told police that he was between Bond and Nevins streets at 1:45 pm when the suspect began waving plank at him.

“What? See what happens? Say something,” the suspect allegedly snarled during the incident.
