The East New York community is reeling from a tragedy on Monday, after a 2-week-old Brooklyn baby died at his home, according to authorities.
The newborn, Justin Bernard, was unconscious and unresponsive when first responders arrived at the East New York home — located at 602 New Lots Ave. — on June 24, cops said.
Emergency medical personnel took the infant to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, where doctors pronounced him dead at approximately 5 a.m., according to police.
The medical examiner will determine the cause of death, and the investigation is ongoing, according to authorities.
