Police are searching for the crook who swiped an iPhone and $400 off a sleeping 19-year-old on 56th street last week.
Surveillance footage shows the thief approach the victim as he dozed on the stoop of his 56th Street home near Sixth Avenue at 5 a.m. on July 30, before carefully sliding the victim’s smartphone out of his pocket, and snatching the wallet from his hand.
The bandit is about 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighs 180 pounds, and has brown eyes and brown hair. He was last seen wearing black pants, a blue short sleeve shirt, black sneakers and a light blue backpack, according to authorities.
