Mini sword madness
A 30-year-old man was arrested for attacking his chauffeur with a “mini sword,” and then stealing his car, on Ocean Avenue on June 15.
The victim told police that he drove the suspect to withdraw cash from an ATM between Farragut and Glenwood roads at 3:08 am when the suspect began threatening him with what police described as a mini sword, using the weapon to strike the back of the victim’s seat while demanding cash.
Fearing for his life, the victim fled the vehicle, and the suspect quickly climbed into the driver’s seat and sped off.
Bucket head
Police arrested a 57-year-old man who they say threatened and beat up a man on Flatbush Avenue on June 21.
The victim told police that he was between Nostrand Avenue and E. 31st Street at noon when the suspect threatened him with a bucket and began beating him, punching him in the face several times.
Bitter Brita
A 41-year-old man stole Brita filters from a Ditmas Avenue store on June 21, police said.
An employee told police that he was in the store between E. Fourth and E. Fifth streets at 11 am when he saw the man grab the water filters and attempt to leave without paying.
When the employee attempted to stop him, the alleged thief said, “Man, get outta here, I’m going to stab you,” and proceeded to pelt the employee with the Brita filters before fleeing, police said.
Batty
A 43-year-old man was arrested for beating a man with a baseball bat on Nostrand Avenue on June 20.
The victim told police that he was between Avenues J and K at 6:10 pm when the suspect struck him in the arm with a Louisville Slugger.
