Crazed man slashes bodega clerk

68th Precinct

Bay Ridge—Dyker Heights

Psycho

A knife-wielding maniac badly sliced up a clerk at a Fourth Avenue bodega on June 24, police report.

The victim said that the villain came into 24 Hour Store between 68th and 69th streets just a minute after midnight, asking for a cigarette and water. When the cashier presented the goods, the criminal pulled out an eight-inch blade and put it to the man’s throat.

“I’ll f—— kill you,” the perp said.

A struggle ensued and the crook cut up both of the victim’s hands, almost severing the man’s right index finger, before fleeing. A witness saw the thug running out of the store and chased him down Bay Ridge Avenue, but was unable to catch him.

Police recovered the dropped weapon outside the store and are reviewing the security tapes.

Money laundering

A jerk made a clean break with a lady’s wallet — which contained $620 in cash — from a Fifth Avenue laundromat on June 23, police said.

The victim said she left her billfold on the folding table at Bright White between 89th and 90th streets at 11 am, and came back a moment later only to find it had been stolen.

Beddy-bye

A crook swiped $1,500 in cash from under the mattress of a Third Avenue apartment on June 20, according to cops.

The victim said he left his home between 68th and 69th streets at 3:40 pm, and came back at 5 pm to find the cache of currency he usually slept upon gone.

Construction job

A burglar stole $2,700 in gadgetry from trailers at a Shore Road construction project overnight on June 21, cops said.

Workers said they left the job site near 80th Street at 6:30 pm, and returned at 4:30 am the next day to see that someone had ripped off three laptops, a mobile wireless unit, and a digital camera, all belonging to the company.
