Cyclones clawed by the Tigers

Tigers 2
Cyclones 1

July 10 at Dodd Stadium

The struggling Cyclones could not deliver when it counted during Sunday’s 2-1 loss to the Connecticut Tigers.

The Tigers led 2-0 going into the seventh, when the Clones offense finally came alive following a leadoff walk to Daniel Munro, who was brought home two outs later on an infield single by Brian Harrison.

But that’s where the team’s comeback ended. The Cyclones were shutdown in the final two frames, though Amauris Valdez was able to single in the eighth, snapping an 0-18 hitless streak.

It was one of just seven hits all night.

The Cyclones return home vs. the Auburn Doubledays at MCU Park [1904 Surf Ave. at W. 17th Street in Coney Island, (718) 449-8497] on July 13, 7 pm. For info, visit www.brooklyncyclones.com.
