Ironbirds 4
Cyclones 7

If the final score looks ugly, guess again. This one was a laugher, but only after the Ironbirds cracked the first joke.
Starter Jonathan Kountis managed to get just one out, while walking four and giving up a double to allow Aberdeen to score three runs.
But the Cyclones stormed back, scoring one in the home first, thanks to a Darrell Ceciliani leadoff bunt single, an error, and a Cory Vaughn RBI groundout.
In the second, the Cyclones got three more, thanks to an error, consecutive doubles by James Schroeder and Wilfredo Tovar, and another double by J.B. Brown.
Three more runs scored in the fifth on doubles by Vaughn and Bonfe and a homer by Will Cherry.
The Cyclone bullpen was impressive, giving up just one run on three hits after Kountis’s one-third of an inning.
The win put the Cyclones 10 games up in first place, with just 13 left to play.
