An 84-year-old man died after a van driver hit him and another pedestrian in Borough Park on Wednesday night.

Police said a 39-year-old man driving a sprinter van was headed southbound on 18th Avenue at about 6:30 p.m. when he struck two pedestrians who were crossing the avenue midblock near 49th Street.

Both pedestrians — 84-year-old Williamsburg resident Noach Klein and a 54-year-old man who has not been named — were taken to Maimonides Medical Center by ambulance. Klein died from his injuries at the hospital, police said, while the 54-year-old was in stable condition.

The driver remained on the scene, police said, and no arrests had been made as of Thursday evening, though an investigation is ongoing.

This is a breaking news story and will be updated.
