Check out the Brooklyn band Vernous. They incorporate vast musical spaces that are akin to Flying Lotus and Nosaj Thing with pulsing industrial dance beats and sultry vocals. Along with Vernous is the experimentally slanted Mic Raygun and Anna Aufseeser’s electronic rock project Eyes of Wonder.

Dale Talde’s Pork Slope crew is hosting a weekly crab boil, which consists of blue crabs with potatoes, cornm, and sausage. There are no reservations required and the price for a six piece meal is $28 and the price for a 12 piece meal is $54.

In the American housing crisis, many families were left homeless, but there were some that fought the banks when they tried to foreclose and they won. “A Dream Foreclosed” is a book that follows the stories of several families from Chicago, Detroit, North Carolina, and Tennessee.
