Fabulous 5th Avenue Fair

Enjoy 20 blocks of fun, food and entertainment, from 12th Street to Sterling Place, as the Park Slope Fifth Avenue BID launches its Fabulous Fifth Avenue Fair from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., May 17, rain or shine.

Park Slope is a unique and exciting neighborhood so you can expect the same from its Fair — it is not just about tube socks and sausages. The Fair attracts tens of thousands of neighborhood folks and visitors to Park Slope for this very special day of music, food, fun and entertainment.

Fifth Avenue is filled with small shops and Mom and Pop restaurants, bars and cafÈs. From the antiques at Bob and Judi’s, to ZuZu’s Petals, there are unique boutiques to be found all along the avenue: dress shops, trendy shoe shops, and if you don’t want a new pair, you can get the old ones fixed.

You can enjoy a culinary journey along Park Slope’s Fifth Avenue, from Willie’s NY Dawgs to the Piramides of Mexico. Or, travel across the Atlantic without leaving Brooklyn and sample the sumptuous tastes of Italy and France, including delicious pastas, fries and patisseries. And yes, there’s sausage and peppers too.

There will be blocks of Arts and Crafts (Third Street to St. John’s); Antique Autos (Carroll & Garfield); and Puppetry Theater Arts, in which kids can make their own puppets (Second & Third streets).

The fair will also boast a celebrity, as Kim Hampton of the New York Liberty will be signing autographs, and 501 and the Rebel Legions Star Wars Costume Volunteers will be there for all to enjoy, as well. Music and performances will be held at two stages: The Gate (Third Street) & Southpaw (Sterling Place).
