The largest annual gathering of individuals, families, advocates, agencies, and friends of individuals with developmental disabilities in Brooklyn is scheduled for June 24.
The Brooklyn Family Support Fair, A Vision for New Possibilities, will be held at the Brooklyn College Student Union from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This is the 19th Annual Family Support Fair and is coordinated by the Family Support Committee of the Brooklyn Mental Retardation/Developmental Disabilities Council.
The fair, free for families and individuals with disabilities, will feature a Resource Fair, enabling attendees the opportunity to speak with representatives from more than 70 agencies and a variety of workshops and seminars throughout the day. Workshop topics include autism, housing issues, behavior management, and more.
Services for all age groups will be represented and include advocacy, after-school, early intervention, special education, family reimbursement, day programs, vocational programs, respite, residential, and more.
Brooklyn College’s Student Union Building is located on Campus Road and East 27th Street.
