Films of Bong Joon-ho showcased at BAM

BAMcinématek unleashes “Monsters & Murderers: The Films of Bong Joon-ho,” a retrospective of the South Korean auteur, February 25-March 1, on the occasion of the release of his newest thriller, “Mother.”

Monsters & Murderers collects all of the director’s feature films to date, including a special sneak preview of “Mother” (2009), about a mother willing to do anything to clear her son’s name when he is arrested for the murder of a schoolgirl. Bong will be at BAM, February 26, for a Q&A following the screening of “Mother” as well as February 27 to speak about “The Host” (2006), his genre-busting monster movie and the highest grossing South Korean film of all time.

BAM Rose Cinemas is at 30 Lafayette Avenue. Tickets are $12 per screening; $9 for seniors (65 and over), children (ages five to 11), and students (25 and under).
