Bullets flew across Brooklyn between Wednesday night and Thursday morning, leaving five people dead in four separate shootings, police reported.

None of the shootings appeared to be connected, police sources said on Thursday. The incidents included a possible murder-suicide involving a Park Slope couple — the neighborhood’s first murder case in nearly two years.

Police said the first homicide occurred at about 11:08 p.m. on Jan. 24 at 220 Schenectady Ave. in Crown Heights, within the confines of the 77th Precinct.

That’s where, law enforcement sources said, a 37-year-old man took a bullet to his neck. EMS rushed him to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Police have withheld his identity, pending family notification.

During the investigation, officers took a person of interest into custody and brought that individual in for questioning. As of Thursday morning, charges against them are pending the results of the ongoing probe, police noted.

Slain in Brownsville

Less than a half-hour later, law enforcement sources said, officers from the 73rd Precinct in Brownsville rushed to a shooting at the corner of Atlantic and Rockaway Avenues at about 11:36 p.m. on Jan. 24.

Upon arriving at the scene, NYPD sources noted, they found a 28-year-old man who suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his torso. EMS rushed the man to Brookdale University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead; the NYPD has not yet released his identity, pending family notification.

So far, no arrests have been made in the case, authorities said.

Murder-suicide in Park Slope

An hour or so past midnight Thursday, police responded to the deadliest shooting of the evening: Two people gunned down at a Park Slope apartment building in a possible murder-suicide.

Officers from the 78th Precinct found the victims at 386 2nd St. at about 1:08 a.m. The two individuals, a 34-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman, were both shot in the head, according to police.

According to sources familiar with the investigation, the two victims were believed to have been in a relationship. The woman was found on a bed, while the man was located lying on the floor nearby.

Responding EMS units pronounced them dead at the scene. Police have not yet disclosed their identities.

One family friend who said he knew the dead man expressed shock and disbelief.

“I am heartbroken this morning,” said Terrell Sandback. “He’s family. We played basketball together.”

Investigators found a firearm near the man’s body, authorities said, a possible sign of a murder-suicide. The investigation remains ongoing.

It was the first homicide in Park Slope in nearly two years, based on police data.

Killed in Clinton Hill

Finally, a 35-year-old man was shot dead in Clinton Hill at about 2:41 a.m. on Thursday morning, law enforcement sources reported.

Officers from the 88th Precinct, in responding to a 911 call about the shooting, found the victim at 162 Hall St. with a single gunshot wound to his head.

EMS rushed the man to Brooklyn Hospital Center, where he was pronounced dead. Police have not yet released his identity.

No arrests have been made in that investigation, police reported.

All of the shootings occurred in the confines of Patrol Borough Brooklyn North, where police radios were encrypted last year.

Brooklyn North, through Jan. 21, had reported four homicides since the start of the year, one more than the number tallied at the same point in 2023; and 10 shooting incidents, up two from the 2023 year-to-date total, according to CompStat.
