Slam comedy

As beefy wrestlers fill up Barclays Center for the SummerSlam event, the funny folk of the Cross the Bridge Comedy Show in Bushwick will throw down with a night of jokes about men in tights grappling each other. Phil Valentine (pictured) will host the night of suplex stand-up from Patrick Holbert, Matt Maran, Dave Columbo, and Whitney Clark.

Hippies will meet hipsters this weekend at “Two More Days of 1969,” a Woodstock reunion concert at an outdoor nightclub in Williamsburg. The producer of the 1969 concert, Artie Kornfeld, and original host Wavy Gravy will introduce folk singer Arlo Guthrie (pictured), singer-songwriter Leslie West, and members of Jimi Hendrix’s Woodstock band at today’s concert.

Queens and scenes

“Cymbeline” is one of those weird late Shakespeare plays that you rarely see — “It’s Cymbeline [shrug emoji],” opening tonight, is even weirder. The multimedia show uses the text from Shakespeare, new songs, drag performers, reindeer toys, and a cute dog in the title role to tell the story of a theater troupe trying to produce the problem play.

Blood and sand

Head to Coney Island to watch “Crown Heights.” The film, based on the true story of a Crown Heights man wrongfully convicted of murder in 1980, and his friend who spent 21 years getting the conviction overturned, will screen on a giant inflatable screen as part of the Flicks at the Beach series. Bands will play before the movie.

Tango, no cash

Learn to dance the tango for free at tonight’s Live at the Archway, starring international ensemble Los Chantas Tango. Before the band strikes up, instructors will guide your through the steps of the fiery Argentinean dance, so at least you will know your abrazo from your boleo. And if necessary, you can always loosen up with a drink from the Lighthouse bar under the bridge.
