Nerd night

Time to set down your twenty-sided die and quest to the Bell House, where geeky duo the Doubleclicks croon songs about dinosaurs, super-villains, and tabletop games, accompanied by a cello and a meowing cat keyboard. Opening is comedian and Rifftrax writer Joseph Scrimshaw.

7 pm at the Bell House [149 Seventh St. between Second and Third avenues in Gowanus, (718) 643–6510, www.thebellhouseny.com]. $15 ($12 in advance).

Come out to plaaaaaaay!

Pull out your best leather vest for an all-day celebration of “The Warriors,” the 1979 cult film about a Coney Island street gang fighting its way across New York City. Enter the cosplay contest (3 pm), meet the original actors, and watch the movie with a bunch of fanatics. It’ll be good. Real good. The best!

10 am–11 pm at Surf Pavilion at (3029 Stillwell Ave. between Bowery Street and the boardwalk, thewarriorsreunion.wordpress.com). $25 ($20 in advance).

Hack the planet!

Another cult film about lawless teens! Nitehawk celebrates the 20th anniversary of “Hackers,” the visually rich but technically dubious film that starred Jonny Lee Miller and Angelina Jolie as rollerblading cyber-jockeys. Miller and the film’s director will be on hand for a discussion after the screening tonight.

7:30 pm at Nitehawk Cinema [136 Metropolitan Ave. between Berry Street and Wythe Avenue in Williamsburg, (718) 384–3980, www.nitehawkcinema.com]. $15.

Wednesday

September 16

Bouncing beat

Burn off your lunchtime meal with some dancehall moves inside the hall of government! Choreographer Blacka Di Danca, known for his music videos with Diplo and Shaggy, will give a performance of dancehall moves, the high-energy variation on reggae, inside the Borough Hall rotunda. He will then slow the groove down for an interactive demo class for anyone not rushing back to work.

Noon at Brooklyn Borough Hall (209 Joralemon St. at Court Street in Downtown, www.beatbrooklyn.com/dancehall-in-borough-hall). Free.

Hear them meow: Sisters and nerd-rockers the Doubleclicks will perform with a meowing keyboard, cello, and ukelele at the Bell House on Sept. 12.
