Al dente!

The opening night of the Dick Zigun’s latest Coney Island-centric play “The Education of Al Capone, as if told by Jimmy Durante” — which tells the true story of 18-year-old Capone working at an Italian restaurant — will be followed by a discussion with the cast and a selection of fancy snacks! Shows later in the run cost $20.

8 pm at Coney Island USA (1208 Surf Ave. at W. 12th Street in Coney Island, www.coneyisland.com). $30.

Devil’s night

Enjoy a night of pitch-black ballads from acoustic singer-songwriter Amigo the Devil, a leading figure in the “murder folk” genre, when he stops at heavy metal bar St. Vitus tonight. He will serenade the crowd with alternately bleak and clever tunes from his new album, including “Cocaine and Abel” and “I Hope Your Husband Dies.”

7 pm at St. Vitus Bar [1120 Manhattan Ave., between Box and Clay streets in Greenpoint. www.saintvitusbar.com]. $15.

Save vs. shiny

The illustrations in Dungeons & Dragons rule books have fired the imagination of gamers for decades, and the new tome “Art & Arcana” collects some of its most iconic images, from the 1974 pamphlet “Men & Magic” to last year’s “Volo’s Guide to Monsters.” Meet its three editors tonight and find out how they whittled it down to just 448 pages!

Get thee behind me!: Amigo the Devil will play his dark folk tunes at St. Vitus on Nov. 10.

7:30 pm at Books Are Magic [225 Smith St. at Butler Street in Cobble Hill, (718) 246–2665, www.booksaremagic.net]. Free (but the book is $50).

Nancy crew

The women’s podcast festival Werk It! has mostly taken place on the distant isle of Manhattan, but jumps the river for its best event — a live recording of the WNYC’s queer podcast “Nancy.” Tonight, hosts Tobin Low and Kathy Tu — neither named Nancy— talk to lesbian comedian Cameron Esposito (pictured, left, with her wife).

7:30 pm at the Bell House [149 Seventh St. between Second and Third avenues in Gowanus, (718) 643–6510, www.thebellhouseny.com]. $25.

In-cider info

How about these apples? Brooklyn is having a cider resurgence, and three producers of the boozy liquid made from apples will discuss the challenges of urban production and how to get the best flavor — as well as offering some cider samples!

6:30 pm at Brooklyn Historical Society [128 Pierrepont St. between Henry and Clinton streets in Brooklyn Heights, www.brooklynhistory.org]. $10.

Get a wife: Comedian Cameron Esposito, left, with her wife Rhea Butcher, will appear on the podcast “Nancy” at the Bell House on Nov. 13.
