Fall forward

The Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition in Red Hook launches its Fall Show this afternoon! The massive warehouse space includes six different exhibits, including the “Really Affordable Art Show,” “Locations,” “Material Matters,” a collection of album art, a section of enormous art installations, and “Escapades,” a lighthearted show from members of the Coalition.

Noon–6 pm at the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition [499 Van Brunt, Door 7, between Beard Street and the water in Red Hook, (718) 596–2507, www.bwac.org]. $5 suggested donation.

’Click bait

Nerdy folk-pop duo the Doubleclicks will play an extremely intimate show tonight at Williamsburg board game spot the Twenty-Sided Store. The sibling singers will perform songs about Dungeons & Dragons, being socially awkward, and other subjects that could be taken from the shelves of the store.

7 pm at Twenty-Sided Store [362 Grand St. between Marcy Avenue and Havemeyer Street in Williamsburg, (718) 963–1578, www.twentysidedstore.com]. $12.

Hang out

When you stop by the Brooklyn Academy of Music tonight for the opening of the Next Wave Art exhibit, look up! An installation of tables, chairs, and teacups by Brooklyn artist Ioanna Pantazopoulou will float above your head like a chandelier, as part of the “Towards a New Archaeology” exhibit. Grab a free drink and explore work by her and six other artists, in this space, BAM Harvey, and BAM Fisher.

7:30 pm at BAM Peter Jay Sharp Building [30 Lafayette Ave. at Ashland Place in Fort Greene, (718) 636–4100], www.bam.org. Free.

Can’t stop the ‘Beat’

The five-day Bushwick Film Festival kicks off tonight with a red carpet reception and a screening of the hyper-local flick “Bushwick Beats” — an anthology of six short films shot in the neighborhood, all with the theme “unconditional love.” The party will continue with drinks and dancing down the street at Lot 45 at 10 pm.

6 pm at House of Yes [2 Wyckoff Ave. at Jefferson Street in Bushwick, (646) 838–4937, www.bushwickfilmfestival.com]. $20.

Space queen

Get in on the ground floor of the latest theatrical sensation! Tonight is the first of two workshop productions of “The Church of the Alien Love Child Presents the Passion of Reverend Yolanda,” a gospel, folk, and rock musical based on the true life story of Rev. Yolanda, a transfemme drag preacher from Muscle Shoals.

7 pm at the Bric House [647 Fulton St. at Rockwell Place in Fort Greene, (718) 683–5600, www.bricartsmedia.org]. $12 ($8 in advance).

That’s bananas!: The Doubleclicks nerd rock duo will play at the Twenty-Sided Store in Williamsburg on Oct. 7.
