Photo Friday

Pop down to Photoville for its final weekend in Dumbo! The photo festival features more than 80 exhibits in shipping containers, including images of cute kitties and harrowing shots from photojournalists. Tonight in the Photoville Beer Garden, photo service Getty Images will show off some of its best images from the past year. The fest continues through Sunday.

7:30 pm at Brooklyn Bridge Plaza (Water Street and New Dock Street in Dumbo, www.photoville.com). Free.

Sept. 22

Day and Knights

Chill out on the steps of the Plaza at 300 Ashland, where you can catch a dozen performances as part of the Downtown Brooklyn Arts Festival. The Brooklyn Ballet will kick things off at 12:15 pm; local orchestra the Knights (pictured) will play at 2:45 pm, and it ends with a salsa dance party from Los Hacheros at 5 pm.

Noon–8 pm at the Plaza (300 Ashland Pl. at Lafayette Avenue in Fort Greene, www.downtownbrooklyn.com). Free.

Sept. 23

Antic dealer

Brooklyn’s biggest street festival is here! Atlantic Avenue will shut down today from Fourth Avenue to the waterfront (that’s the whole thing, people) for the Atlantic Antic! Look out for the Dumpling Eating Contest, belly dancers, marching bands, a “drone obstacle course,” country bands playing outside of Hank’s Saloon, and bars serving a special Atlantic Antic Ale from Sixpoint Brewing.

From up here, they look like ant-ics: The Atlantic Antic festival will be pack Atlantic Avenue with vendors, bands, and visitors on Sept. 23.

Noon–6 pm on Atlantic Avenue (from Fourth Avenue to Furman Street in Boerum Hill, Downtown, Cobble Hill, and Brooklyn Heights, www.atlanticave.org). Free.

Sept. 24

Music man

The TKTS booth may have abandoned Brooklyn, but we still have TodayTix, which sponsors tonight’s concert “Broadway Does Brooklyn.” This evening of stripped-down musical performances, which benefits the Dramatists Guild Foundation, is hosted by former “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” star Darren Criss (pictured), with Mark Ballas, currently starring in “Kinky Boots;” Ethan Slater from “Spongebob Squarepants,” and many more.

7:30 pm at National Sawdust [80 N. Sixth St. at Wythe Avenue in Williamsburg, (646) 779–8455, www.nationalsawdust.org]. $55 ($179 VIP).

Sept. 26

Gut busting

The Chicago-style stand up showcase “Comedians You Should Know” presents one comedian you definitely do know: Judah Friedlander from “30 Rock,” along with Clark Jones, Kerryn Feehan, Shalewa Sharpe, and more, all laughing it up at combined bar and bowling alley the Gutter.

9 pm at the Gutter [200 N. 14th St. between Wythe and Nassau avenues in Williamsburg, (718) 387–3585, thegutterbrooklyn.com]. $10 ($5 in advance).

He’s got balls: The Photoville exhibit in Dumbo this weekend is full of striking images, like this photo of a man in Delhi transporting colorful balls.
