Filmmaker Jim McKay and some of the cast members will discuss the movie after the screening.

Cheesy holiday

Sacre bleu! It’s Saint Jean-Baptiste Day! This is a very important public holiday celebrated on June 24 in the Canadian province of Quebec for some reason. Why it matters to you: Canadian bar UpNorth will give away free poutine all day! So come get your fill of french fries, gravy, and cheese curds. Note: UpNorth will offer this deal again on Canada Day, July 1.

No actual ladies will be naked: The Barenaked Ladies will play the Ford Amphitheater in Coney Island on June 27.

Funny girl

Comedian Kerry Coddett hosts the second installment of this new monthly stand-up series, where teenage girls share the stage with professional funny women. Tonight features Negin Farsad, Jordan Carlos, Maeve Press, and Ruby Karp, the 16-year-old author of “Earth Hates Me,” among others.

7:30 pm at the Williamsburg Hotel [96 Wythe Ave. at N. 10th Street in Williamsburg, (718) 362–8100, www.thewilliamsburghotel.com]. $10.

Poor Ezra

It’s a celebration of the 1990s tonight in Coney Island! Alt-rockers Better Than Ezra will open for Barenaked Ladies, who will bust out their songs about Kraft dinner, Chinese chicken, and non-food–related topics. Singer-songwriter KT Turnstall also plays — she’s great, but kind of ruins the ’90s theme we’ve got going on.

7 pm at Ford Amphitheater (3052 West 21st Street at the Boardwalk in Coney Island, www.fordamphitheaterconeyisland.com). $15–$173.

Bottom’s up!: Queen Titania (Vanessa Butler) will romance big-eared Bottom (Corey Whelihan) in Smith Street Stage’s modern-day production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”
