Free film on immigration

Rockefeller Foundation Fellow and film professor (University of Texas) Anne Lewis visits Park Slope United Methodist Church, 410 Sixth Avenue (at Eighth Street), at 7:30 p.m., May 2 to screen her film about the affects of immigration on a small town’s labor force in Tennessee.

It’s the latest in a series of “First Friday” films sponsored by the Park Slope United Methodist Church’s Social Action Committee. The event is free to the public.

For eight years, Lewis filmed residents of Morristown, a small mountain town in East Tennessee that lost its light manufacturing base to the maquiladoras in Mexico in the 1980s.
