Free summer concerts are returning to Bay Ridge’s Shore Road Park every Tuesday for nine weeks starting tonight. The lineup features an assortment of live bands who’ll get to play with the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge as their backdrop.

“Our free summer concert series is back,” said Councilmember Justin Brannan, who represents Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights and parts of Bath Beach and Bensonhurst. “I’m so excited for all of us to get outside and enjoy great music and gorgeous Verrazzano sunsets with neighbors, friends, and family.”

The series  — sponsored by Brannan, State Senator Andrew Gounardes, Assemblymember Peter Abbate, NIA Community Services Network and Investors Bank — aims to encourage neighbors to come out and enjoy the summer weather at one of southern Brooklyn’s sprawling green spaces.

The annual concert series dates back more than decade, and were previously hosted by former State Senator Marty Golden in conjunction with other local sponsors.

“There’s no better way to spend a warm summer night than at one of our concerts in the park,” said Gounardes, Golden’s predecessor. “I am so glad to be back sponsoring these beloved concerns for another summer, and I look forward to enjoying them with my family and our community. Come join us for a free, fun-filled family night!”

Concert nights are meant to be fun for the whole family, and attendees are invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets to Shore Road Park. Performances are held on the lawn at the intersection of 79th Street.

Shows start at 7 p.m. with rain dates scheduled for the following Wednesdays. The schedule is as follows:

  • Tuesday, July 5, 7 p.m.: Tramps Like Us
