This is going to be one Fark-ing great party.
Weird news fans can meet some of the strangest minds in the business at Fark’s annual bash on Friday night at the Draft Barn.
Contributors to the user-generated website, which alerts readers to odd news nuggets, organized the get-together to swap stories about their favorite nerd hobbies.
“We talk about everything,” said Fark fan Katie Mac. “Current events, television, relationships, “Star Trek,” our cats for about an hour — everything!”
For those who don’t like to talk all that much, the Gowanus bar has more than 300 beers on tap, so everyone can pick a special brew as unique as the weird stories that show up on Fark, including the sexual habits of Finnish teenagers, the drinking habits of British preteens, a recipe for braised koala or, our favorite, the death of Greenpoint’s “Vagina Tree.”
