This street fair was on Fantastic Street!
Mom, dad, and the kids joined their neighbors for a day of fun at Kensington’s version of the Church Avenue street fair.
The sibling frolic along Church Avenue between Ocean Parkway and E. Fifth Street celebrated the bustling neighborhood, and was an intimate, local affair, said participants.
“We were in our own backyard, so we knew a lot of the local businesses,” said animal activist Theresa Labianca, who works with Sean Casey Animal Rescue. “We did see a lot of people who volunteer for us.”
Good friends, good feelings, and good food were the order of the day. There was corn and other delicious treats, cotton candy for the kids, the ever-popular goldfish giveaway, and cool services like pet adoptions.
Labianca brought along Bailey, an obedient German shepherd, and other friendly, four-legged pals who needed loving homes.
The shelter found homes for two of them: Addie, a 3-year-old beagle mix from Kentucky, and Carrie, a 5-month-old boxer mix.
Even the weather cooperated; after enduring a blistering weekend of fall chills, visitors were treated to mild and sunny weather.
