The New York Congregational Nursing Center is looking lush and verdant for the sumnmer, thanks to the homespun handiwork of Middle School 2 students who teamed with clients, staffers and other members of the community to help create a landscape of love and legacy at the comely campus.
The budding horticulturalists were joined by volunteers from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Plymouth Church of the Pilgrims for the 7th Annual Intergenerational Day of Gardening, which had them polishing up on the elbow grease to spruce, prune and plant gardens of herbs, vegetables and flowers.
Residents assisted with the planting of railing flower boxes and planters to adorn the walkway and patio of the facility, 135 Linden Boulevard.
