Bad Samaritan
A man borrowed a woman’s phone to call an ambulance after she passed out on Court Street on July 21 — and then ran away with it!
The victim — who waited until Aug. 13 to report the crime — told police that she felt sick and briefly passed out on the corner of W. Ninth and Court streets that afternoon. When she came to, a man was there kindly asking if he could borrow her phone to call for help, only to then hightail it with the ill-gotten gadget, cops said.
Locker trouble
A thief stole $300 a man left in an unlocked safe inside his Seabring Street hotel room on July 24.
The victim told police that the perp swiped the cash at the hotel betweeen Columbia and Richards streets at around 11:55 a.m.
Work dispute
A brute punched his co-worker in the face during an argument on Columbia Street on Aug. 10.
The victim told cops that his co-worker sucker punched him in front of a restaurant between Sackett and Union streets in response to some snide remark he’d made at around 4:30 p.m.
Purse purloiner
A bandit snatched a woman’s wallet at a supermarket on Court Street on Aug. 10.
The victim told police that she left her purse unattended at the store between Atlantic Avenue and Pacific Street between 11 and 11:30 a.m., and she came back to find her bag unzipped and her $795 Louis Vuitton wallet — along with the three credit cards, healthcare card, and documents it contained — stolen.
Bag bandit
A thief swiped a crossing guard’s bag while she was working on the corner of Smith and Second streets on Aug. 2.
The victim told police that she hung up her Hollister bag on the corner of a nearby fence while she was working between 10:30 and 11:05 a.m., and that someone nabbed the bag with $300, her Samsung cellphone, her drivers license, and her keys inside.
