’HEARTBREAKER’ RETURNS

’HEARTBREAKER’

Perhaps you lost
track of Pat Benatar sometime around 1985, after she contributed
"Invincible" to the soundtrack of the hit movie, "The
Legend of Billie Jean," but to paraphrase LL Cool J, "Don’t
call it a comeback. She’s been here for years."

Benatar will perform at the Seaside Summer Concert Series at
Asser Levy Seaside Park (Seabreeze Avenue at Ocean Parkway, Coney
Island) at 8 pm on Aug. 2.

The pixie-haired, leather-clad rocker (who was born in Greenpoint,
although she grew up on Long Island), dominated the early ’80s
with such megahits as "Heartbreaker," "Love Is
A Battlefield" and "Hit Me with Your Best Shot."
And it may surprise some to hear that she didn’t become one of
those rockstar turned wash-ups that you see on VH1’s "Behind
the Music."

From 1980 to 1994, Benatar released 12 albums (four gold and
six platinum) and received four Grammy awards for best female
rock vocalist. In 1995, she returned to the road with her first
major tour in five years, and since then, she and her band (featuring
hubby-guitarist Neil Giraldo) have been playing to welcoming
audiences around the world with the likes of Fleetwood Mac, the
Steve Miller Band and Styx.

Following her current "2001 Summer Vacation Tour,"
Benatar will be heading into the studio to give her "best
shot" at a new album.

For more information about the Aug. 2 concert, which also features
Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, call (718) 469-1912 or

all other areas free.
