He’s left to bleed to death

A 32-year-old man was stabbed to death during a brutal attack in Sheepshead Bay early Tuesday, officials said.

Police said that the victim – whose name had not been released as this paper went to press – was stabbed upwards of ten times and found lying in a pool of his own blood outside of a small alley parking lot on East 17th Street near Avenue Z – down the block from the corner Bagel Boy.

A black baseball cap – believed to be the victim’s – was found lying in front of a black Infiniti.

Sources said that no one actually witnessed the attack, which took place at around 3 a.m. on October 21.

A woman walking by found the victim lying unconscious as she walked by.

Police said that the victim ultimately died of his injuries at Coney Island Hospital.

Investigators said they have identified the victim, but would not release his name until his family was informed about what happened.

A description of the assailant had not been released, officials said.

Sheepshead Bay residents on their way to work were abuzz over what happened Tuesday morning as they walked by the corner of East 16th Street and Avenue Z and found that the police had closed down the street.

NYPD police tape was found set up from the Bagel Boy all the way down the street as detectives milled about collecting evidence.

Police spent most of the day assuring onlookers that the killing had nothing to do with the Bagel Boy.

The owner of the popular corner eatery said that his store was closed when the killing took place.

“It’s a police matter, we don’t know what happened,” said the owner, who wouldn’t give his name.

The police investigation didn’t hamper the bagel shop’s business.

“We’re very busy,” he said, before hanging up.

Police said that this is the fifth homicide to be investigated by detectives from the 61st Precinct this year. Only two murders had occurred inside the precinct confines, which includes Sheepshead Bay, Manhattan Beach, Gravesend and parts of Homecrest and Midwood, last year, officials said.

Cops are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to come forward.
