Dedication and hard work – that’s what makes local parents vital to the school system.
To acknowledge their contributions to schools in School District 20, which spans Bay Ridge, Fort Hamilton and Borough Park, the local Community Education Council (CEC) presented awards to members of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) for each of the district’s schools.
The council’s President Laurie Windsor called parents “unpaid volunteers who do so much for our children and our schools.”
“Congratulations to all of you. You guys do a great job in District 20,” said Carlo Scissura, the former president of District 20’s CEC and current chief of staff for Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz.
