Brooklyn’s new youth track club, The Prospect Park Youth Running Club, geared towards boys & girls ages five through 12 who wish to experience the benefits of fitness, joys of competition, and team unity of Cross Country Running through an education-based program, will hold an informational and open registration meeting, 7 p.m., August 28 at Bishop Ford High School, 500 19th Street between Prospect Park West and Ninth Avenue.
A club and activities overview will be presented, and attendees will also have a chance to meet the staff, participate in a Q&A session, and register; practice and competition schedules will also be handed out.
Participants of the program will have an opportunity to receive sport specific instruction from accomplished coaches and athletes in the community and the level of each athlete will be taken into consideration an individualized training and performance plan for each athlete for the season is develop for them.
The goal is for each Prospect Park Youth Running Club member to improve their overall fitness, achieve performance targets, and boost self-esteem through team running.
