The Land of the Rising Sun struck the right chord with music lovers in Bay Ridge, when the Narrows Botanical Gardens headlined Japanese gypsy rockers Kagero at its free waterfront festival.
The group wowed the crowd with a haunting blend of violin and guitar strains at the emerald empire off Shore Road between Bay Ridge Avenue and 72nd Street.
The group serenaded visitors with music described as “edgy yet with a little of the gypsy traveling within’ its strings” by Animefood Magazine.
Upcoming concerts include Sonia Montez, folk music with spunk, August 20, and an a cappella group, September 17, to be announced. For more information, go to www.narrowsbg.org.
The series is presented by the Lower Third Avenue Merchants, Circles Café, Family Store, Nordic Delicacies, Close Out Heaven, Jewelry by Paparazzi, Grandma’s Original Pizza, Anapoli Restaurant, Petite Oven, Casa Pape, Yellow Hook and Fifth Avenue Bait & Tackle, in conjunction with the Sunset-Ridge Waterfront Alliance and Blu Buffalo Consultants.
