Bensonhurst
Students at Bishop Kearney High School were tasked with nominating the extraordinary teachers that made a difference in their formative years in this year’s “Make a Difference” initiative.
“These educators have had a tremendous, transformative impact on the lives of our young women and have enriched their lives and inspired their life-long educational and career aspirations,” said Kearney principal Elizabeth Guglielmo, on announcing this year’s honorees.
For the past few months, students have submitted essays nominating 29 of their elementary school teachers. One student wrote, “She made me believe in myself and always had positive things to say about my performance. I only made Student of the Month once, and she gave it to me. She is the reason I love English! I would like to say thank you for helping me through my educational journey.”
And what a journey it is!
Without further ado, the winning super-sensational and standing-heads-above-the-rest educators from St. Bernard are: Kathleen Buscemi, principal; Tania Davis, Patricia Bellard and Norma Strong.
Standing O wishes all the teachers congratulations.
