Stabbing suspect sought for unprovoked attack in Kensington: NYPD

A stabbing suspect who injured a man during an unprovoked attack in Kensington on Sunday remains at large, according to the Police Department.

On Monday, the NYPD released surveillance camera footage of the alleged culprit in the assault that occurred at 2:50 p.m. on April 21 in front of a Bangladeshi restaurant at 483 McDonald Ave.

According to authorities, the yet-to-be identified suspect approached a 32-year-old man on the street and randomly stabbed him in the torso with a knife.

Following the assault, the suspect fled on a bicycle southbound on McDonald Avenue towards Avenue C. As shown in the images, the suspect wore a green camouflage jacket with gray pants and is pictured walking with his bicycle. The NYPD estimates that he is approximately 55 years old. 

EMS transported the stabbing victim to Maimonides Medical Center, where he is currently in a stable condition, cops said.

In the 66th Precinct, where the April 21 stabbing occurred, there have been 67 reported assaults in the area covering Borough Park, including Midwood and Kensington, so far this year, according to the latest NYPD data. When compared to the same period last year, reported assaults are up over 21%.
