A whopping 3,000 families in need in the metropolitan area received turkeys this Thanksgiving owing to the efforts to Kings Plaza and two other metro area malls.
Macerich, the company that owns Kings Plaza along with Queens Center Mall and Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream, Long Island, worked with local nonprofits to do their part, like so many others ensuring New Yorkers didn’t go hungry.
In Brooklyn, the turkey donations were facilitated through partnerships with Mary Queen of Heaven Church’s food pantry in Flatlands, along with the real estate developer Millennium Development Corp and NYCHA’s Glenwood Houses in East Flatbush.
The group also worked with Borough President and Mayor-elect Eric Adams, Brooklyn Borough President-elect Antonio Reynoso, Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, and others to facilitate donations.
