Man accused of flashing

A Sheepshead Bay man was arrested Thursday for flashing and sexually abusing three little girls all under the age of seven, officials allege.

Police said that Bath Beach resident Constantine Kotzalides, 49, who lives on Shore Parkway near Bay 17th Street, was charged with sex abuse, public lewdness and committing a criminal sex act in connection with his sinister spree through Borough Park last week.

Officials said that Kotzalides was charged with exposing himself to a seven-year-old girl as he allegedly approached her at the corner of 52nd Street and 13th Avenue at 6:10 p.m. on June 27.

Prosecutors said that he allegedly flashed the girl and encouraged her to touch his privates.

Police were told that he quickly left the corner, only to expose himself to two more girls minutes later near the corner of 56th Street and 11th Avenue, officials allege.

The girls, ages five and six, told police that he allegedly flashed them and then ordered them to take off their underwear.

He allegedly molested one of the girls and ran off when they screamed, police said.

Witnesses saw Kotzalides flee the area in a black Nissan Maxima.

Responding officers found the Maxima tooling around the area and took him into custody without incident.

Prosecutors remanded Kotzalides to custody during his arraignment Saturday.

While he has never been arrested for sexual assault before, and is not listed in New York’s Sex Offender Database, prosecutors said that Kotzalides served up to seven years in prison for a robbery he committed on 86th Street near 19th Avenue back in 1999.

He had also been arrested in 1992 – for criminal possession of stolen property, officials said.

As this paper went to press, detectives from the NYPD’s Special Victims Unit were trying to determine if Kotzalides was connected to a series of other incidents last year in which someone tried to lure young girls in Borough Park into his vehicle.
