Change for the worse

A sneaky thief stole $16,350 worth of jewelry from a man’s 101st Street apartment on Dec. 6.

The apartment resident said that he discovered that three jewelry items were missing from his apartment after he returned home, between Third and Fourth Avenues, after his superintendent had changed the lock on his front door after the resident left for work around 7:30 am that morning.

Cellular ripoff

A no-goodnik opened a Verizon account in the name of a Bay Ridge Avenue resident and incurred charges of $3,540 on Nov. 7, the Ridge resident reported this week.

The man lives between Third and Fourth avenues, and the perp opened the account at around 10 pm, according to the report.

Thief stooped low

A lowlife stole a laptop valued at $1,150 from a man’s Bay Ridge Avenue front stoop on Nov. 24, the man reported to police this week. The thief snagged the package after it was delivered around 5:35 pm to the home between Narrows Avenue and Owl’s Head Court.

Connection voided

A good-for-nothing stole a cell phone straight from a package at a Fourth Avenue building on Dec. 1. The perp grabbed the phone from the package when it was delivered to the building between 74th and 75th streets just before 11:30 am.

Easy pickings

A thief stole a woman’s wallet from her car parked on Narrows Avenue on Dec. 9, according to police. The woman parked her car between 72nd and 73rd Streets, and the thief made the move around noon. The woman’s car doors were left open, according to a police report.
