A 62-year-old pedestrian died after he was struck by the driver of a sports utility vehicle in Midwood on Aug. 28, police said.
The senior was hit on Avenue P between E. 5th Street and Ocean Parkway at 8:22 pm officers stated. The victim was trying to cross the street in front of a double-parked vehicle when the motorist hit him, according to the Highway Patrol Collision Investigation Squad. The driver stayed on the scene, cops said.
Officers found the man unconscious and unresponsive, suffering from severe trauma, according to the authorities. The victim was transported to Coney Island Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, officials said.
